Returning To Our Supernatural Roots –
God
Isn’t Boring!
Why is performance ministry so
popular?
Because Church is boring.
The only reason men of God have
turned to entertainment rather than bringing people into an encounter with God
is because they themselves have been deceived into believing “church is
boring”. Church IS boring if YOU’RE trying to do it on your own.
When you listen to man and
denominational doctrines over what Jesus is saying and doing – yes, YOU are
the one who is boring. Forget trying to entertain the crowds to keep them coming
back. When you have to put a bedroom suite in the pulpit to teach on love in the
marriage; when you have to put a car in the pulpit to teach on finances; YOU
have already missed your objective in the calling of a man of God. If indeed you
are called.
A called of God – man of God
– will become sick in his spirit over anything less than the pure power and
revelation of Jesus Christ on display. He will not settle for what
“denominational headquarters” tells him to preach and do for the next
quarter year. He will not listen to a man behind a desk that “says what do”
but never “does.”
Is this radical? YES! There are
many social networks out there to make you feel good about yourself. WE are an
apostolic-prophetic led network of
bent-over-backwards-heart-pursuing-the-Presence-of-a-Holy-God-Network of
abandoned men that cannot live without His touch upon our lives. We will tell
you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.
The only; let me reiterate that
for points sake – THE ONLY REASON church is boring is because the man behind
the pulpit has never had an encounter with God. No one has ever come back from
His Presence and remained boring. No one! If you take offense to that it only
means there is offense within to be taken. Offense can be good if it awakens us
to our lack of knowing God by experience.
The
Book of Numbers? Or, The Book of Acts?
But some might say – “You
can’t build a big church numerically without being seeker friendly and
performing.”
Whoever told you - you had
to build a big church? Since when is numbers the sign of a successful ministry?
Since when is having an overabundance of finances the road to Glory? Very often
it is just the opposite that is true.
When men of God have a
life-changing encounter with God – no one will ever accuse us of being a
“boring church” again. However, it is so much easier to go the way of
mainstream Christianity and never rock the boat. Nevertheless, if you do, that is
your reward.
To “rock the boat” often
means fasting; praying all night; and calling on leadership to fast and pray
with you. Going to the extremes to find our personal weakness that we might be
strong in His grace.
God Isn’t
Boring!
Consider this:
Ezekiel had such an encounter
with God – he saw the Glory, he heard the sounds of many waters rushing, he
saw the living creatures, he heard the Voice of the Lord. It so ruined him it
left him speechless for seven days! (Ezekiel chapters 1-3) When was the last
time you came out of Gods Presence speechless? When was the last time you wept
before Him until your eyes could cry no more tears?
Daniel sought the Lord with
prayer and fasting until the angels of the Lord appeared to him to interpret
what he had seen. He fell at their feet as a dead man. The weightiness of the
Shekinah Glory of God descended upon him until his face was pressed into the
ground. Not until a “touch from Heaven” was he able to stand in the
Presence.
The Apostle John became
incoherent and fell as a dead man when encountering the Lion of the tribe of
Judah. He saw Him as he had never seen Him before. In all of his prior
experiences with Jesus, he would never again be the same after that encounter.
We could go on and on – the
point is – it is time for the men of God to return to their supernatural roots
and seek His Face until – like Moses we’ve been changed from glory to glory.
(2 Corinthians chapter 3) Until we are carrying the Glory of God in such a
manner that even our physical appearance takes on a new Light!
When we come to the pulpit
after a direct “other worldly encounter” – when our face reflects the
Glory of Another – when our words carry the demonstration of His Power – no
one will ever say again… “Church is boring.”
My
love and embrace,
Eddie
